Christmas Day
Admiral John S. McCain, Jr., the Navy, CINCPAC (Commander In Chief, Pacific), spends the  holiday visiting with troops.
Adm. McCains' father, John S. McCain, Sr, was also a 4-star Admiral, who witnessed the Japanese surrender on the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay, 1945.  The only father-son 4-star officers in US Naval history. At this time, Adm. McCain, Jr's son, later to become a US Senator from Arizona, had been a POW for almost three years.
Adm. McCain sips on a hot Miller's as he mingles and talks with the troops.

It was reported that the Admiral said the following during his visit:

"Those hippie sons-a-bitches are carrying signs back in the states that say make love, not war. Well, you men can do both, fight all day and f--- all night."
